Varsity Opponent (, ) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Concord Academy Eagles (Concord, NC), 59-49 in a league bout.

With the win, Varsity Opponent upgrades its record to 52-154 on the season. The travel to Saginaw (Saginaw, MI) to clash with the Trojans in a non-league bout on Friday, December 16. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 1-2. Saginaw lost 59-33 in their recent league bout against Grand Blanc (Grand Blanc, MI)

Next up, the Eagles clash with the Albemarle Bulldogs (Albemarle, NC) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 17. Concord Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 6-5 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 5-2 record after their 64-40 league win over Mount Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, NC).
