The New Roads Jaguars (Santa Monica, CA) basketball nipped the visiting New Designs University Park Cardinals (Los Angeles, CA), 31-28 in Friday's non-league test.

The Jaguars (1-6) will now prepare for their test against California Academy of Math & Science (Carson, CA). The Rebels go into the Coastal test with a 1-3 record.

The Cardinals now own a 2-4 record. They play next when they host Neuwirth Leadership Academy for a Metro test on Tuesday, January 10. New Designs University Park will encounter a Boxers squad coming off a 45-10 non-league win over Alliance Health Services Academy (Los Angeles, CA). The Boxers record now stands at 4-6.
