Einstein Titans (Kensington, MD) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Whitman Vikings (Bethesda, MD), 49-48 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Einstein upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Titans travel to Paint Branch (Burtonsville, MD) to encounter the Panthers in a test on Tuesday, January 3. The Panthers go into the test with a record of 3-0.

The Vikings now own a 0-2 record.
