East Central Eagles (Sandstone, MN) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted Lakers (Howard Lake, MN), 75-67 in a non-league bout.

With the win, East Central upgrades its record to 5-4 on the season. The Eagles travel to Marshall (Duluth, MN) to play the Hilltoppers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 26. The Hilltoppers go into the bout with a record of 3-2. Marshall lost 79-78 in their recent non-league bout against Greenway (Coleraine, MN)

Next up, the Lakers play the Central Raiders (Norwood-Young America, MN) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 22. Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted will attempt to upgrade on its 3-2 season record. The Raiders go into the bout with a 3-6 record after their 82-58 league win over Sibley East (Arlington, MN).
