Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Northside Vikings (Lafayette, LA) and the visiting Franklin Hornets (Franklin, LA), saw Northside's basketball squad hold off Franklin by a count of 63-61.

With the victory, Northside upgrades its record to 5-6 on the campaign. The Vikings host Carencro (Lafayette, LA) to play the Bears in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, December 19. The Bears come into the challenge with a record of 8-2.

Next up, the Hornets play the Loreauville Tigers (Loreauville, LA) in a 2A District 8 challenge, on Tuesday, January 2. Franklin will attempt to upgrade on its 6-2 season record.
