South Fork Cubs (Miranda, CA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Point Arena Pirates (Point Arena, CA), 52-40 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, South Fork upgrades its record to 7-5 on the campaign. The Cubs travel to St. Bernard's (Eureka, CA) to play the Crusaders in a Humboldt-Del Norte - Little 5 bout on Friday, January 5. The Crusaders come into the bout with a record of 7-1.

Next up, the Pirates play the Technology Titans (Rohnert Park, CA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 19. Point Arena will attempt to upgrade on its 0-5 season record. The Titans come into the bout with a 0-8 record after their 41-10 non-league loss to Roseland Collegiate Prep (Santa Rosa, CA).
