In Saturday's league challenge, the Rivers Red Wings (Weston, MA) ice hockey team nipped the visiting Williston Northampton Wildcats (Easthampton, MA), by a margin of 1-0.
The Red Wings now possess a 5-4 record. They play next when they travel to Winchendon for a non-league challenge on Sunday, December 17. Rivers will play a Wapiti team coming off a 5-0 non-league loss to St. Sebastian's School (Needham, MA). The Wapiti record now stands at 1-5.
The Wildcats (1-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Albany Academy for Boys (Albany, NY). The Cadets come into the non-league challenge with a 4-4 record. In their last challenge, Albany Academy for Boys was edged by Northwood (Lake Placid, NY), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.
