Southside Panthers (Gadsden, AL) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Alexandria Valley Cubs (Alexandria, AL), 59-37 in a league bout.

With the victory, Southside upgrades its record to 6-1 on the campaign. The Panthers host Douglas (Douglas, AL) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Monday, December 18. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 0-0.

Next up, the Valley Cubs play the Talladega Tigers (Talladega, AL) in a bout, on Thursday, January 25. Alexandria will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record.
