In Monday's non-league contest, the host Charleroi Cougars basketball team scored a big 70-49 win over the California Trojans.

The Cougars (4-3) will now prepare for their contest against Southmoreland (Alverton, PA). The Scotties come into the WPIAL 3A 4 contest with a 2-2 record. In their last contest, Southmoreland was trounced by Central Valley (Monaca, PA), 72-29, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Trojans battle the Springdale Dynamos (Springdale, PA) in a WPIAL 2A 1 contest, on Tuesday, December 17. California will attempt to better on its 1-4 season record. The Dynamos come into the contest with a 4-1 record after their 78-59 league loss to Clairton (Clairton, PA).
