The crowd at Monday's non-league challenge between the Pleasant Plains Cardinals (Pleasant Plains, IL) and the visiting Normal University Pioneers (Normal, IL), observed Pleasant Plains's basketball team overwhelm Normal University by a score of 41-20.

The Cardinals (8-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Olympia (Stanford, IL). The Spartans come into the Sangamo challenge with a 2-8 record. In their last challenge, Olympia was routed by Roanoke-Benson (Roanoke, IL), 62-49, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Pioneers battle the MacArthur Generals (Decatur, IL) in a Central State Eight challenge, on Friday, December 20. Normal University will attempt to improve on its 2-9 season record.
