In Friday's non-league outing, the Akron Tigers (Akron, NY) basketball squad edged the host Mount St. Mary Academy Thunder (Kenmore, NY), by a margin of 37-35.
The Tigers (2-1) will now prepare for their outing against Medina (Medina, NY). The Mustangs go into the Section 6 Niagara - Orleans outing with a 0-2 record.
The Thunder now own a 0-4 record. They play next when they host Sweet Home for a non-league outing on Monday, December 20. Mount St. Mary Academy will clash with a Panthers squad coming off a 70-36 league win over Amherst Central (Amherst, NY). The Panthers record now stands at 5-2.
