The Alexander Spartans basketball team scored 69 points and restricted the visiting Portsmouth West Senators to 57 in the Spartans non-league victory on Saturday.
The Spartans now sport a 5-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host River Valley for a Tri-Valley I contest on Tuesday, December 20. Alexander will battle a Raiders team coming off a 58-57 non-league loss to Glenwood (New Boston, OH). The Raiders record now stands at 1-6.
The Senators (3-4) will now prepare for their contest against Wheelersburg (Wheelersburg, OH). The Pirates come into the Southern Ohio II contest with a 4-1 record. In their last contest, Wheelersburg prevailed over Greenup County (Greenup, KY), 61-50, in a non-league contest.
