Farrell Steelers (Farrell, PA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Aliquippa Quips (Aliquippa, PA), 56-51 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Farrell upgrades its record to 3-0 on the season. The Steelers travel to West Middlesex (West Middlesex, PA) to play the Big Reds in a District 10 Region 2 bout on Tuesday, December 20. The Big Reds go into the bout with a record of 3-3. West Middlesex lost 45-34 in their recent non-league bout against Kennedy Catholic (Hermitage, PA)

Next up, the Quips play the Steel Valley Ironmen (Munhall, PA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 22. Aliquippa will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Ironmen go into the bout with a 1-6 record after their 52-51 league loss to Keystone Oaks (Pittsburgh, PA).
