The Byrd Yellow Jackets basketball team (Shreveport, LA), was overwhelmed 57-25 in Saturday's non-league battle with the host Barbe Buccaneers (Lake Charles, LA)

The Buccaneers now possess a 8-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Little Cypress-Mauriceville for a non-league battle on Tuesday, December 20. Barbe will confront a Bears team coming off a 67-46 non-league win over Liberty (Liberty, TX). The Bears record now stands at 14-4.

The Yellow Jackets (3-8) will now prepare for their battle against Benton (Benton, LA). The Tigers come into the 5A District 1 battle with a 2-6 record.
