The Elgin Maroons (Elgin, IL) basketball nipped the visiting St. Edward Green Wave (Elgin, IL), 51-49 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Maroons (5-5) will now prepare for their test against West Chicago (West Chicago, IL). The Wildcats go into the Upstate Eight test with a 0-10 record. In their last test, West Chicago was tipped by South Elgin (South Elgin, IL), 47-33, in a league test.

The Green Wave now own a 7-6 record. They play next when they travel to Riverside-Brookfield for a non-league test on Tuesday, December 20. St. Edward will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 81-58 league win over St. Francis (Wheaton, IL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 7-3.
