North Carolina High School Basketball - Westover tops Goldsboro

December 17, 2022: Fayetteville, NC 28303

Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Westover Wolverines (Fayetteville, NC) and the visiting Goldsboro Cougars (Goldsboro, NC), saw Westover's basketball squad knock off Goldsboro by a count of 72-62.

With the victory, Westover upgrades its record to 7-0 on the campaign. The Wolverines host South View (Hope Mills, NC) to play the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, December 20. The Tigers come into the challenge with a record of 2-7. South View won 89-41 in their recent league challenge against Douglas Byrd (Fayetteville, NC)

Next up, the Cougars play the Red Springs Red Devils (Red Springs, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, December 27. Goldsboro will attempt to upgrade on its 6-1 season record. The Red Devils come into the challenge with a 7-1 record after their 74-42 non-league loss to Lumberton (Lumberton, NC).
