Dowling Catholic Maroons (West Des Moines, IA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Prairie Hawks (Cedar Rapids, IA), 54-40 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Dowling Catholic upgrades its record to 4-3 on the campaign. The Maroons travel to Urbandale (Urbandale, IA) to play the J-Hawks in a Central Iowa Metro - Central bout on Tuesday, January 3. The J-Hawks come into the bout with a record of 3-6. Urbandale lost 51-34 in their recent non-league bout against Lewis Central (Council Bluffs, IA)

Next up, the Hawks play the Jefferson Hawks (Cedar Rapids, IA) in a Mississippi Valley bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Prairie will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record.
