In Saturday's non-league challenge, the Lakeland Thunderbirds (Minocqua, WI) ice hockey team nudged the visiting D.C. Everest Evergreens (Schofield, WI), by a margin of 1-0.
The Thunderbirds now possess a 2-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Kingsford for a non-league challenge on Friday, December 30. Lakeland will clash with a Flivvers team coming off a 3-2 non-league win over Marquette (Marquette, MI). The Flivvers record now stands at 6-1.
The Evergreens (2-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Amery (Amery, WI). The Warriors enter the non-league challenge with a 6-1 record. In their last challenge, Amery tipped Menomonie (Menomonie, WI), 5-1, in a non-league challenge.
