Lower Cape May Tigers (Cape May, NJ) backers were pleased Sunday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting St. Joseph Wildcats (Hammonton, NJ), 53-52 in a league bout.

With the victory, Lower Cape May upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Tigers host Wildwood Catholic (North Wildwood, NJ) to play the Crusaders in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 21. The Crusaders come into the bout with a record of 0-3. Wildwood Catholic lost 61-55 in their recent non-league bout against Ocean City (Ocean City, NJ)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Holy Spirit Spartans (Absecon, NJ) in a Cape/Atlantic - National bout, on Tuesday, December 20. St. Joseph will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record. The Spartans come into the bout with a 0-2 record after their 55-28 league loss to Ocean City (Ocean City, NJ).
