Mineral Point Pointers (Mineral Point, WI) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Deerfield Demons (Deerfield, WI), 61-36 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Mineral Point upgrades its record to 8-0 on the season. The Pointers travel to Cuba City (Cuba City, WI) to confront the Cubans in a Southwest Wisconsin Activities challenge on Thursday, December 21. The Cubans come into the challenge with a record of 3-3. Cuba City won 61-54 in their recent league challenge against Fennimore (Fennimore, WI)

Next up, the Demons confront the Wisconsin Heights Vanguards (Mazomanie, WI) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, December 22. Deerfield will attempt to improve on its 6-2 season record. The Vanguards come into the challenge with a 3-3 record after their 58-49 non-league loss to River Valley (Spring Green, WI).
