West Monona Spartans (Onawa, IA) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Boyer Valley Bulldogs (Dunlap, IA), 57-45 in a non-league bout.

With the win, West Monona upgrades its record to 4-2 on the season. The Spartans host Storm Lake St. Mary (Storm Lake, IA) to play the Panthers in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 21. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 0-6.

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Ar-We-Va Rockets (Westside, IA) in a Rolling Valley bout, on Tuesday, December 19. Boyer Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 2-8 season record. The Rockets go into the bout with a 1-7 record after their 62-43 league loss to Glidden-Ralston (Glidden, IA).
