Southwestern Randolph Cougars (Asheboro, NC) supporters left the game happy Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the visiting Jordan-Matthews Jets (Siler City, NC), 68-40 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Southwestern Randolph advances its record to 3-5 on the year. The Cougars host Randleman (Randleman, NC) to face the Tigers in a 1A/2A Piedmont match on Friday, December 20. The Tigers enter the match with a record of 7-0. Randleman won 47-45 in their recent league match against Eastern Randolph (Ramseur, NC)
The Jets now own a 2-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host North Davidson for a non-league match on Thursday, December 26. Jordan-Matthews will face a Black Knights squad coming off a 79-46 non-league win over Starmount (Boonville, NC). The Black Knights record now stands at 6-2.
