North Carolina High School Basketball - East Gaston routed by South Point

December 18, 2024: Mt. Holly, NC 28120

South Point Red Raiders (Belmont, NC) supporters left the game satisfied Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the host East Gaston Warriors (Mt. Holly, NC), 50-5 in a non-league match.

With the victory, South Point advances its record to 5-2 on the year. The Red Raiders host Ashbrook (Gastonia, NC) to face the Greenwave in a 3A Big South match on Friday, December 20. The Greenwave enter the match with a record of 2-7. Ashbrook lost 70-61 in their recent league match against Stuart W. Cramer (Belmont, NC)

The Warriors now own a 2-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Clover for a non-league match on Friday, December 27. East Gaston will face a Blue Eagles squad coming off a 56-12 non-league win over York (York, SC). The Blue Eagles record now stands at 7-2.
