New Home Leopards (New Home, TX) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Southcrest Christian (Lubbock, TX), 62-36 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, New Home upgrades its record to 5-6 on the campaign. The Leopards host Sundown (Sundown, TX) to play the Roughnecks in a 2A Region I District 5 bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Roughnecks come into the bout with a record of 3-5.

Next up, the play the Kress Kangaroos (Kress, TX) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Southcrest Christian will attempt to upgrade on its 9-9 season record. The Kangaroos come into the bout with a 4-7 record after their 51-22 non-league loss to All Saints Episcopal School (Lubbock, TX).
