Mathews Mustangs (Vienna, OH) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Academy for Urban Scholars Hawks (Youngstown, OH), 82-45 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Mathews upgrades its record to 4-1 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Jackson-Milton (North Jackson, OH) to play the Bluejays in a non-league bout on Friday, December 22. The Bluejays come into the bout with a record of 4-2. Jackson-Milton won 50-43 in their recent league bout against Western Reserve (Berlin Center, OH)

Next up, the Hawks play the Valley Christian Eagles (Youngstown, OH) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 22. Academy for Urban Scholars will attempt to upgrade on its 1-5 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 2-2 record after their 57-18 league win over Leetonia (Leetonia, OH).
