Aspermont Hornets (Aspermont, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Hermleigh Cardinals (Hermleigh, TX), 58-24 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Aspermont upgrades its record to 8-6 on the season. The Hornets host Paint Creek (Haskell, TX) to play the Pirates in a 1A Region II District 15 bout on Friday, December 29. The Pirates go into the bout with a record of 0-2.

Next up, the Cardinals play the Trent Gorillas (Trent, TX) in a 1A Region II District 14 bout, on Thursday, December 21. Hermleigh will attempt to upgrade on its 3-6 season record.
