    • Colorado High School Basketball - La Junta knocked off by Pueblo County

    December 19, 2023: La Junta, CO 81050

    The Pueblo County Hornets basketball team scored 68 points and held the host La Junta Tigers to 48 in the Hornets non-league triumph on Tuesday.

    The Hornets now sport a 5-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Fountain-Fort Carson for a non-league contest on Thursday, January 4. Pueblo County will meet a Trojans team coming off a 55-29 non-league loss to De La Salle North Catholic (Portland, OR). The Trojans record now stands at 5-4.

    The Tigers (1-8) will now prepare for their contest against Ellicott (Calhan, CO). The Thunderhawks enter the 4A/3A Tri-Peaks contest with a 0-7 record. In their last contest, Ellicott was outscored by James Irwin (Colorado Springs, CO), 86-29, in a league contest.
