Mapleton Sailors (Mapleton, OR) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Lewis Academy Watchmen (Newberg, OR), 49-45 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Mapleton upgrades its record to 7-2 on the season. The Sailors travel to New Hope Christian (Grants Pass, OR) to play the Warriors in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 21. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 6-7. New Hope Christian won 57-53 in their recent non-league bout against Crow (Eugene, OR)

Next up, the Watchmen play the Falls City/Kings Valley Charter Mountaineers (Falls City, OR) in a 1A Casco bout, on Tuesday, January 2. Lewis Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 5-5 season record.
