Vermillion Tanagers (Vermillion, SD) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Tri-Valley Mustangs (Colton, SD), 67-57 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Vermillion upgrades its record to 4-1 on the season. The Tanagers host Tea (Tea, SD) to play the Titans in a A Region 4 bout on Tuesday, January 2. The Titans go into the bout with a record of 3-1.

Next up, the Mustangs play the Freeman Academy/Marion (Freeman, SD) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 28. Tri-Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record. The go into the bout with a 2-3 record after their 80-64 non-league win over Patrick Henry (Roanoke, VA).
