Ayden - Grifton Chargers (Ayden, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Spring Creek Gators (Seven Springs, NC), 48-35 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Ayden - Grifton upgrades its record to 2-7 on the season. The Chargers travel to Greene Central (Snow Hill, NC) to play the Rams in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 27. The Rams go into the bout with a record of 1-7. Greene Central lost 66-29 in their recent league bout against North Pitt (Bethel, NC)

Next up, the Gators play the Midway Raiders (Dunn, NC) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 3. Spring Creek will attempt to upgrade on its 4-3 season record. The Raiders go into the bout with a 4-4 record after their 52-14 non-league win over Hobbton (Newton Grove, NC).
