    The Boyd County Spartans basketball team (Spencer, NE), dropped 37-22 in Tuesday's non-league battle with the host Hartington-Newcastle Wildcats (Hartington, NE)

    The Wildcats now sport a 5-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lutheran-Northeast for a non-league battle on Thursday, December 28. Hartington-Newcastle will battle a Eagles team coming off a 68-42 non-league loss to Wakefield (Wakefield, NE). The Eagles record now stands at 0-9.

    The Spartans (0-7) will now prepare for their battle against Creighton (Creighton, NE). The Bulldogs come into the non-league battle with a 4-4 record. In their last battle, Creighton dropped by Elgin/Pope John (Elgin, NE), 73-28, in a league battle.
