Kennedy Cougars (Cedar Rapids, IA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Liberty Lightning (North Liberty, IA), 71-61 in a league bout.

With the win, Kennedy upgrades its record to 3-7 on the season. The Cougars host Iowa City (Iowa City, IA) to play the Little Hawks in a Mississippi Valley bout on Tuesday, December 19. The Little Hawks go into the bout with a record of 3-7. Iowa City lost 59-52 in their recent league bout against Liberty (North Liberty, IA)

Next up, the Lightning play the Prairie Hawks (Cedar Rapids, IA) in a Mississippi Valley bout, on Friday, February 9. Liberty will attempt to upgrade on its 2-3 season record.
