In Thursday's non-league contest, the host Janesville Wildcats basketball team scored a close 51-47 triumph over the North Butler Bearcats.
The Wildcats (5-1) will now prepare for their contest against Riceville (Riceville, IA). The Wildcats go into the Iowa Star contest with a 4-3 record. In their last contest, Riceville nipped Rockford (Rockford, IA), 66-44, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Bearcats confront the Nashua-Plainfield Huskies (Nashua, IA) in a Corn Bowl contest, on Saturday, December 21. North Butler will attempt to better on its 1-4 season record. The Huskies go into the contest with a 4-2 record after their 57-29 league win over St. Ansgar (St. Ansgar, IA).
