In Thursday's league contest, the host Lewis County Minutemen basketball team scored a close 49-46 win over the Philip Barbour Colts.

The Minutemen (1-2) will now prepare for their contest against George Washington (Charleston, WV). The Patriots come into the non-league contest with a 1-0 record. In their last contest, George Washington edged St. Albans (St. Albans, WV), 51-38, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Colts battle the Petersburg Vikings (Petersburg, WV) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, January 4. Philip Barbour will attempt to better on its 0-3 season record.
