In Thursday's non-league contest, the host Monroe City Panthers basketball team scored a big 65-37 triumph over the Troy-Buchanan Trojans.
The Panthers (7-1) will now prepare for their contest against Seymour (Payson, IL). The Indians go into the non-league contest with a 3-5 record. In their last contest, Seymour smashed Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia (Concord, IL), 56-41, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Trojans battle the Howell Central Spartans (St. Charles, MO) in a Gateway - South contest, on Friday, January 10. Troy-Buchanan will attempt to better on its 2-3 season record.
