North Carolina High School Basketball - Central trounced by Anson

December 19, 2024: Wadesboro, NC 28170

Anson Bearcats (Wadesboro, NC) supporters left the game happy Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the visiting Central Eagles (Pageland, SC), 48-14 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Anson advances its record to 5-4 on the year. The Bearcats travel to Piedmont (Monroe, NC) to meet the Panthers in a 2A/3A Rocky River match on Friday, December 20. The Panthers enter the match with a record of 3-6. Piedmont lost 62-14 in their recent non-league match against Union Academy (Monroe, NC)

The Eagles now own a 1-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Union Academy for a non-league match on Friday, December 20. Central will meet a Cardinals squad coming off a 58-32 non-league win over Montgomery Central (Troy, NC). The Cardinals record now stands at 8-0.
