With the victory, La Vernia advances its record to 15-5 on the year. The Bears host Gonzales (Gonzales, TX) to meet the Apaches in a 4A Region IV District 28 challenge on Friday, January 9. The Apaches come into the challenge with a record of 7-11.

In their next game, the Rattlers battle the Clark Cougars (San Antonio, TX) in a 6A Region IV District 27 challenge, on Tuesday, December 23. Reagan will attempt to improve on its 11-11 season record. The Cougars come into the challenge with a 2-13 record after their 64-37 non-league win over Incarnate Word (San Antonio, TX).
