Canyon Lake (Fischer, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Zapata Hawks (Zapata, TX), 57-35 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Canyon Lake upgrades its record to 4-5 on the campaign. The travel to Sinton (Sinton, TX) to play the Pirates in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 3. The Pirates come into the bout with a record of 1-4. Sinton lost 65-49 in their recent non-league bout against Aransas Pass (Aransas Pass, TX)

Next up, the Hawks play the Crystal City Javelinas (Crystal City, TX) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 6. Zapata will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Javelinas come into the bout with a 4-9 record after their 51-49 non-league loss to Cigarroa (Laredo, TX).
