Wayne County Cardinals (Monticello, KY) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Garrard County Golden Lions (Lancaster, KY), 73-64 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Wayne County upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Cardinals travel to Lincoln County (Stanford, KY) to play the Patriots in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 6. The Patriots go into the bout with a record of 0-1. Lincoln County lost 74-63 in their recent non-league bout against Lafayette (Lexington, KY)

Next up, the Golden Lions play the Knox Central Panthers (Barbourville, KY) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 8. Garrard County will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 0-2 record after their 56-27 league loss to Barbourville (Barbourville, KY).
