Mercer Mustangs (Mercer, PA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Riverside Panthers (Ellwood City, PA), 42-37 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Mercer upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Lincoln (Ellwood City, PA) to play the Wolverine in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 3. The Wolverine come into the bout with a record of 1-0. Lincoln won 56-35 in their recent non-league bout against Rochester (Rochester, PA)

Next up, the Panthers play the Laurel Spartan (New Castle, PA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 3. Riverside will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record.
