Amherst County Lancers (Amherst, VA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Nelson County Governors (Lovingston, VA), 44-31 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Amherst County upgrades its record to 3-0 on the season. The Lancers travel to Louisa County (Mineral, VA) to play the Lions in a non-league bout on Monday, December 5. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 1-1. Louisa County won 38-32 in their recent non-league bout against Culpeper County (Culpeper, VA)

Next up, the Governors play the Buffalo Gap Bison (Swoope, VA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 6. Nelson County will attempt to upgrade on its 2-1 season record.
