The Phoenix Pirates basketball team scored 63 points and held the visiting St. Mary's Crusaders to 56 in the Pirates non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Pirates now sport a 2-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Yreka for a non-league contest on Tuesday, December 5. Phoenix will meet a Miners team coming off a 58-51 non-league loss to Red Bluff (Red Bluff, CA). The Miners record now stands at 2-2.

The Crusaders (1-1) will now prepare for their contest against Rogue River (Rogue River, OR). The Chieftains enter the 3A Far West contest with a 0-1 record. In their last contest, Rogue River was nudged by Illinois Valley (Cave Junction, OR), 74-22, in a non-league contest.
