In Saturday's non-league outing, the Sparta Academy Warriors (Evergreen, AL) basketball squad edged the host South Choctaw Academy Rebels (Toxey, AL), by a count of 55-48.
The Warriors (3-3) will now prepare for their outing against Fort Dale Academy (Greenville, AL). The Eagles go into the non-league outing with a 2-1 record. In their last outing, Fort Dale Academy held off Hooper Academy (Hope Hull, AL), 62-57, in a non-league outing.
The Rebels now hold a 0-1 record. They play next when they host Escambia Academy for a AISA A Region 2 outing on Friday, January 12.
