Cozad Haymakers (Cozad, NE) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Maxwell Wildcats (Maxwell, NE), 41-37 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Cozad upgrades its record to 1-1 on the season. The Haymakers host Hershey (Hershey, NE) to play the Panthers in a C1 District 11 bout on Friday, December 8. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 1-1. Hershey lost 73-37 in their recent league bout against Gothenburg (Gothenburg, NE)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] (Eustis, NE) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 5. Maxwell will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The go into the bout with a 0-2 record after their 52-20 non-league loss to Ansley/Litchfield (Ansley, NE).
