Meridian Wildcats (Meridian, MS) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting McGill-Toolen Yellowjackets (Mobile, AL), 44-35 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Meridian upgrades its record to 2-4 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Northwest Rankin (Brandon, MS) to play the Cougars in a 7A Region 3 bout on Tuesday, December 12. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 5-3.

Next up, the Yellowjackets play the Booker T. Washington Wildcats (Pensacola, FL) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, December 6. McGill-Toolen will attempt to upgrade on its 7-3 season record. The Wildcats come into the bout with a 6-0 record after their 62-48 league win over Pine Forest (Pensacola, FL).
