Mater Dei Catholic Crusaders (Chula Vista, CA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Otay Ranch Mustangs (Chula Vista, CA), 20-8 in a league bout.

With the win, Mater Dei Catholic upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Crusaders travel to Steele Canyon (Spring Valley, CA) to play the Cougars in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 9. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 0-0.

Next up, the Mustangs play the San Ysidro Cougars (San Diego, CA) in a bout, on Wednesday, January 10. Otay Ranch will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record.
