South Laurel Cardinals (London, KY) supporters left the game happy Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the host Rockcastle County Rockets (Mt. Vernon, KY), 39-38 in a non-league match.

With the victory, South Laurel advances its record to 1-0 on the year. The Cardinals host Southwestern (Somerset, KY) to meet the Warriors in a non-league match on Friday, December 13. The Warriors enter the match with a record of 0-0.

The Rockets now own a 0-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Madison Central for a non-league match on Tuesday, December 10.
