The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Eastland Mavericks (Eastland, TX) and the visiting Albany Lions (Albany, TX), witnessed Eastland's basketball squad hold off Albany by a count of 36-29.

With the victory, Eastland advances its record to 3-3 on the year. The Mavericks host Peaster (Peaster, TX) to meet the Greyhounds in a 3A Region I District 8 battle on Friday, December 12. The Greyhounds enter the battle with a record of 10-5. Peaster lost 38-22 in their recent non-league battle against Hico (Hico, TX)

The Lions now own a 1-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Merkel for a non-league contest on Thursday, December 4.
