    Elida Tigers (Elida, NM) backers went home thrilled Tuesday as they saw their basketball team smash the host Hondo Valley Eagles (Hondo, NM), 63-21 in a non-league contest.

    The Tigers (1-0) will now prepare for their contest against Clayton (Clayton, NM). The Yellowjackets go into the non-league contest with a 2-1 record. In their last contest, Clayton smashed Cimarron (Cimarron, NM), 54-38, in a non-league contest.

    In their next game, the Eagles battle the San Jon Coyotes (San Jon, NM) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, December 4. Hondo Valley will attempt to better on its 0-1 season record.
