The Lathrop Spartans basketball team scored 65 points and limited the host River Islands Riptide to 56 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Spartans now possess a 1-0 record. They play next when they travel to Venture Academy for a non-league bout on Monday, December 8. Lathrop will play a Mustangs team coming off a 85-10 non-league win over Waterford (Waterford, CA). The Mustangs record now stands at 3-0.

With the loss, River Islands falls to 2-1 on the season. The Riptide travel to Riverbank (Riverbank, CA) to clash with the Bruins in a non-league test on Thursday, December 4. The Bruins go into the test with a record of 1-1. Riverbank won 65-39 in their recent non-league test against Denair (Denair, CA)
